Using OH in the atmosphere, military defence developed this technology in the 1970s for CBR (Chemical/Biological/Radiological) warfare. It was commercialised in the 1990s in European hospitals and shows excellent results in the removal of harmful substances such as bacteria, viruses, harmful gases, mould, and respiratory allergens that cause a contaminated environment.
The Wellisair is a
compact device an elegant design with rounded shapes. The purifier has a
very simple control panel with
tactile power buttons,
night mode and
luminous alarm indicators of the alteration of the air quality detected by its
VOC sensor.
The excellent decontamination capabilities of air, objects and surfaces makes the Wellisair device the perfect solution to for any indoor space typical applications include:
- GP Surgeries
- Urgent Care Centres
- Medical / Dentist
- Veterinary
- Healthcare
- Beauty Salons
- Restaurants/Hotels
- Commercial
- Warehouses
- Offices
- Retail
- Leisure
- Sports
- Educational Facilities
Wellisair technology has been
tested effectively on various viruses with different characteristics and in wet and dry environments.
All tests indicate an efficiency between 92-99% of elimination on surfaces (efficiency in the air is higher), depending on the results obtained with
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Rotavirus or Coxsackievirus (hand-foot-mouth).
Wellisair’s hydroxyl radicals (OH·) cause oxidative reactions which cross the membranes of the bacteria
modifying their morphological structure until they reach their genetic information. This produces irreversible damage
killing the bacteria and making them disappear.
To determine the effectiveness, tests were performed with Gram "+" and "-" bacteria, both on surfaces and in the air.
Results indicate a
successful demonstration of a reduction in the following bacteria
- Bacillus subtilis
- Staphylococcus aureus
- Staphylococcus aureus resistance MRSA
- Pseydomonas aeruginosa
- Salmonella
- Klebsiella
- Escherichia coli
