Use the probe to assess the wound by inserting into the wound. If the wound opening is smaller than the width of the probe a different form of assessment should be used and the probe should not be inserted.

Wound Probe® is a single use product.  If used on more than one patient, cross-contamination or infection may result.  Opening the dressing pack compromises the sterile barrier.  Any unused dressings should be discarded.
